Intermediate Acting Camp summer 2013

 Intermediate Acting

Continued education in acting technique is essential for all actors. Students in this camp will work on scenes and or monologues that challenge their basic acting skills.

This is a no nonsense camp for experienced serious actors.

For Auditions   Auditions will consist of a 1-2 minute monologue which should be memorized.

For the Camp   It is strongly recommended that you bring a monologue (comic or dramatic) to class on which YOU want to work or bring a friend and work on a scene together.   It’s a great opportunity to work on something that you might want to perform at competitions like District Thespians (Jr. or Sr.).   You will be critiqued by the instructor as well as your fellow actors. You will learn how to critique your fellow actors. So be prepared for constructive criticism.   You will be asked to stretch out of your comfort zone.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

• To further expand each student’s imagination and creative & critical thinking.
• To have a conversational knowledge of the acting process and the craft.
• To develop more advanced performance skills necessary to comprehend and perform advanced dramatic works.
• To deepen one’s love and appreciation for the theatre through the discipline of acting.
